Reservations
Holiday accommodations can be reserved in person, by telephone, or by email. KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS confirms the agreement in writing. The booking confirmation contains all necessary details regarding payment methods and the applicable cancellation conditions. From the moment a booking request is communicated, whether in writing or verbally, a contractual relationship exists between the customer and KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS. By making your deposit, you once again confirm that your booking is binding.
KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS points out that, unless expressly confirmed otherwise or justified by the unique nature of the specific accommodation, a category of accommodation is booked and confirmed. There is no legal entitlement to a specific room or studio within a category of equivalent accommodation. Different cancellation conditions apply to the individual holiday accommodations; these will be communicated to you by email or telephone and are also published on our website. KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS accepts no liability for accommodation arranged through third-party providers and not operated directly by KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS.
Payments
For a binding booking of holiday accommodation, whether a room, studio, or apartment, an immediate deposit is due in accordance with the booking confirmation. Payment is made to one of the specified company bank accounts or by credit card.
The remaining balance may also be paid together with the deposit or should be settled on site within the first three days after arrival. For accommodation arranged through third-party providers, the contractual and cancellation conditions of those providers apply.

Reservations
Rental cars can be reserved in person, by telephone, or in writing. KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS confirms the booking in writing, including all details regarding payment methods and the applicable cancellation conditions. By making a deposit, the customer again confirms that the booking is binding. A legally valid contract between the customer and KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS exists regardless of whether a deposit has been made.
KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS points out that, unless expressly confirmed otherwise or justified by the unique nature of the booked rental-car model, a vehicle category is booked and confirmed. If the preferred model is not available at the time the rental car is handed over, an equivalent model from the same category or a model from a higher category will be provided. There is no legal entitlement to a specific model.
Different cancellation conditions apply to the individual rental-car categories; these will be communicated to you by email or telephone and are also available on our website.
Condition of the Vehicle
KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS purchases only new vehicles, which remain in service in accordance with applicable regulations provided that no damage affecting safety occurs. The vehicles are inspected and cleaned after each rental and then handed over to the next renter accordingly.
The renter is obliged to handle the vehicle carefully and properly, comply with all applicable regulations and technical requirements relating to its use—for example, not driving the vehicle with insufficient engine oil or coolant—and regularly check whether the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition, as well as lock the vehicle properly.
If the renter is unsure whether the vehicle is in proper condition, for example regarding tire pressure, oil level, etc., they must contact KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS directly. Modifications may not be made without the prior approval of KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS.
The vehicles are generally non-smoking vehicles and should be returned with the interior clean. In the event of unpleasant odors or above-average soiling, an additional cleaning fee may be charged.
What to Do in the Event of an Accident
If the renter is involved in a road accident or another incident in which the rental vehicle is damaged, the renter/driver is obliged to:
a) inform the rental company immediately about the incident;
b) contact the police after consultation with KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS;
c) obtain information about the accident from any witnesses;
d) obtain the personal details of the other driver involved and details of any vehicle that may have collided with the rental vehicle;
e) complete and sign the full accident report and submit it to KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS;
g) not acknowledge any fault or third-party claims in any way, directly or indirectly;
h) in the event of theft or loss of the vehicle, immediately report the incident in writing to the nearest police authority.
If the renter or driver fails to comply fully with their obligation to report the damage/accident immediately and to assist in clarifying and establishing the circumstances of the damage, the renter will be held fully liable for settlement of the damage.
In the event of a road accident, both the renter, i.e. the main driver, and any additionally listed drivers of the vehicle are jointly and severally liable for all damage and unlawful acts caused by them during the rental period.
Insurance
KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS’ policy is to rent vehicles with comprehensive insurance, with or without an excess/deductible.
The amount of the excess to be paid by the renter, regardless of fault, is agreed and specified in the rental agreement. The insurance does not cover the following damage:
a) damage to the underside of the vehicle, the sills, rims, or tires;
b) damage caused by careless driving and through the renter’s own fault without the involvement of a third party, for example while reversing, due to a gust of wind, driving too close to bushes, etc.;
c) repair of mechanical damage caused by the renter’s negligence, for example improper use of the clutch;
d) damage to the interior of the passenger compartment;
e) loss of or damage to the vehicle key;
f) property damage to the renter’s belongings;
g) damage caused by the renter while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or other circumstances impairing their ability to drive, including mobile-phone use;
h) damage resulting from participation in racing events;
i) damage to the mirror, battery, radio, or components and parts of the vehicle destroyed or lost due to the renter’s negligence;
j) damage caused by use of the wrong fuel;
k) damage caused by towing other vehicles or improper towing, for example being pulled out of sand.
If a damaged vehicle is returned without the required prior notification having been made, no subsequent damage report will be accepted and the contracting party will be fully liable for the costs incurred.

Payments
For a binding booking of a rental car, an immediate deposit is generally due in accordance with the booking confirmation. Payment is made to one of the specified company bank accounts or by credit card.
For certain special and higher-value rental-car models, such as an Audi A3 Cabriolet, Audi Q5, or similar, the booking and payment must be made by credit card.
The remaining balance may be paid together with the deposit or, at the latest, in advance when the vehicle is collected. If the contract is terminated early, KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS is not obliged to refund any rental fee already paid.
If the rental car is not returned in accordance with the contractually agreed conditions, KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS is entitled to charge the corresponding costs and a service fee.

If the vehicle, regardless of the reason, is not returned on time to one of the contractually agreed locations, KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS is entitled to charge the costs incurred for recovering the vehicle as well as a service fee.
One-way Rental
Returning the vehicle to a company location other than the collection location is generally possible for rentals of at least three days and is subject to an additional fee.
If the vehicle is not returned in accordance with the contractual agreement, KALAMAKI HOLIDAYS is entitled to charge a vehicle recovery fee and, where applicable, compensation for loss of rental income.
